🚦🚶♀️ READY, STEADY… ROAD SAFETY! 🚸
Our year 3 children took part in pedestrian training to become road safety superstars! 🌟
As part of the programme, the children learnt some really important skills through a mixture of fun classroom activities and practical, hands-on sessions out and about near school.
🏫 First up – the classroom!
We spent time learning all about:
👀 Spotting safe and unsafe places to cross
🚗 Understanding the dangers of traffic
⚠️ Identifying hazards and understanding what it means to take a risk
🚦 Thinking about traffic speed, flow, volume and distance
🚶♂️ Practising how to cross roads safely – including what to do when crossing between parked cars if needed.
Then the children took their learning outside! 🌳👟 They put their new road safety skills into practice on quiet, carefully risk-assessed routes close to school.
We’re looking forward to seeing our children grow in confidence, awareness and independence as they learn how to make safer choices around roads. 💚
